Look out for the Lookout Transfer Station tonight

Residents of Owens Park and other neighborhoods near the Lookout Transfer Station will be coming to the visitor's section of the City Council meeting tonight to make a presention. That presentation will concern the capacity of the transfer station and other environmental issues. One of the things in question is how much the City Council can actually do regarding the newly proposed transfer station.

What is a transfer station you ask? The transfer station is a facility that makes little trash trucks into big trash trucks before sending that waste to a landfill.

The North Texas Municipal Water District, which runs the station, wants to build a bigger and more modern enclosed station. Many local residents to do not want increased capacity, and some are skeptical it will be clean enough.

The meeting starts at 7:30 PM in the Council Chambers at City Hall. You can also view it online at www.cor.net.

We will hopefully cover more of this later.
