Bob Loftin, former coach in the RISD and minor league baseball player, died on Saturday, December 12, 2009.

Born in 1938, Loftin and Bill, his twin brother, went to LSU on baseball scholarships after high school. After LSU he spent several years in the L.A. Dodgers minor league system.

After that he serve as a coach teacher and administrator in Richardson. He serve at both North Junior High and J.J. Pearce High School as assistant principal during his 24 years with the RISD.

Services will be at 11 AM at the First United Methodist Church in Richardson on Friday, December 18.
