About the Richardson Echo

The Richardson Echo is the only locally owned news service for Richardson, Texas founded in 2007. Its purpose has been to act as a local news outset to serve the need for truly Richardson-centric information. The Echo would also like to be an echo of sorts for the community -- A place where the community can express what news and opinion matters most.

The Echo is dedicated to bringing you detailed and informative news and information about Richardson, Texas and the surrounding area.

Because the focus is local -- or in current news lingo "hyperlocal" -- we do not think any story is too small. Like any news source, we need your help to stay on top of things.

What is important to you in your Richardson neighborhood? Is something happening in Richardson that you think needs attention? Is your club, neighborhood association, church or other organization having an event? Let us know or better yet write about it yourself. We love user submitted contributions.

The Richardson Echo, in part, was inspired to take its name from Richardson's first newspaper, The Richardson Echo which went out of print in the 1960s. While we do not offer a print edition, we hope to continue the tradition of Sam Harben by keeping the focus on our love of Richardson.

All material on The Echo has a stated authorship who can take responsibility for its content. The Echo does
not publish articles or editorials with anonymous authorship as has been the case with some blogs and editorial websites. Nothing on The Echo has ever been published without verified authorship except perhaps for wire reports.

The Richardson Echo is completely independent and is not owned or funded by anyone other than The Echo's owner. It is not a part of any corporation, entity or political organization of any kind and nor is it beholden to any.
