Nanotech comapny Zyvex ihas been purchased by DCG Systems in Fremont, California. Zyvex, which was founded in Richardson by James von Ehr, is reported to be the world's first nanotechnology company. It's current offerings include "nanoprobing characterization solutions" for the semiconductor industry.
"Becoming part of the DCG Systems team increases our ability to solve semiconductor customers' problems. The increased size of the combined support and sales organizations allows us to serve our customers better, and the broader product offering of the combined companies will enable new categories of solutions," said Randy Schussler, General Manager of Zyvex Instruments.
Schussler will stay as General Manager of the division according to a company press release. DCG Systems produces semiconductor wafer testing and support products. The terms of the deal were not disclosed. Zyvex has several divisions and it was not clear whether all have been acquired.
TriQuint Semiconductor is moving some employees to Richardson from Boulder. The company says its closing a Boulder Colorado office. This office was formerly Peak Devices Inc. which TriQuint acquired in 2007. About 20 employees will be offered a paid move.
Sipera Systems Receives Internet Telephony Magazine's Product of the Year Award. Sipera Systems offers security products for Voice over IP (VoIP) and so called unified communications.
Sipera SLiC (Secure Live Communications) was selected as a recipient of Internet Telephony Magazine's 2009 Product of the Year Award.
