(October 4 - Richardson, TX) - Around 10:15 AM residents notified police of a suspicious male in a backyard on the 400 block of High Brook. Officers chased the suspect on foot who, apparently, was hiding out in backyard after backyard in an attempt to evade arrest. Officers would flush him out and then he would repeat the process. A criminal version of lather, rinse, and repeat.
This started when the suspect knocked on the front door and then moved around to the back door. This is a common tactic to gain illegal entry into a residence.
More officers were called and a perimeter was set up to surround the suspect. The suspect made his way across Forest Grove and then made a break for it across Renner Road into the apartment complex located immediately across the road.
According to John Corbitt of the Richardson Police Department, residents, motorists and employees of businesses on Renner Road pointed the way. They "either called on the phone to report a man hiding from police, or just plain yelled, 'He went thata-way!'"
Quick response by officers which Corbitt describes as "responding ricky-ticky" and heads up residents involved in informing police made sure the suspect was apprehended quickly.
Police located him hiding in bushes in the apartment complex and took him into custody. The man is suspected of residential burglary. |
