Two J.J. Pearce students win awards from military officers organization  

 David Rehfuss (right), son of Peter & Jan Rehfuss of Richardson, has been recognized as one of the Outstanding Students at the Youth Leadership Conference, held aboard the USS Lexington in Corpus Christi, in July by the Military Order of the World Wars. Paul R. Miller (center), son of Mr. & Mrs. Rusty Miller of Dallas, has been recognized as one of the Outstanding Students at the Youth Leadership Conference, held at Central Texas College, in July. Military Order of the World Wars, an association of officers from all of the uniformed services.

David and Paul were chosen from more than 300 other seniors attending one of the six conferences held throughout Texas and Oklahoma, this summer. David, his parents, and his Senior Class counselor Mrs. London-Young, Paul, his parents, and Senior Class Advisor Mrs. Annette Moran, were the honored guests at an Awards Luncheon, held annually by the Dallas Chapter of the Military Order of the World Wars.

Paul was presented with a citation for Patriotic Achievement by LTC (US Army) King Moss (left), the Chapter’s Vice Commander. David was presented with a Certificate of Patriotic Achievement and a Patrick Henry medal by Captain (USN) Rollie Stevens, former National Commander-in-Chief of the Military Order & a member of the Dallas Chapter.

Additionally, the Dallas Chapter was recently recognized as the Best MOWW Chapter in the Nation at the Order’s National Convention, held in Kansas City, during the first week of August.
