(March 28, 2008) DeVry University and its Keller Graduate School of Management hosted a dedication celebration for its new Richardson location. Participants included Richardson Mayor Steve Mitchell, Chamber of Commerce President Bill Sproull, DeVry University Dallas President Kevin LaMountain, DeVry University Center Dean Sheneka Freeman and DeVry University Metro Operations Rob Paul, as well as members of the Richardson business community and DeVry University faculty, students, alumni, family and friends.
DeVry University relocated its Plano location to Richardson in order to provide greater accessibility for both current and potential students. The new location at 2201 North Central Expressway offers easy access to US 75, as well as Richardson’s DART and light rail public transportation services.
“DeVry University is thrilled to have joined the Richardson community. There is a growing demand for high-quality educational programs that prepare Richardson residents for careers in business and technology. DeVry University’s new Richardson location is in the heart of the Telecom Corridor® providing students greater access to employers, many of whom have already hired DeVry graduates,” said Kevin LaMountain, president for DeVry University Dallas. “We are delighted that Mayor Mitchell could join us today, and we’re pleased to host the Richardson Chamber of Commerce business after hours event. We look forward to continuing and expanding our participation in the local business community.”
“Richardson’s Telecom Corridor® area is home to more than 600 high-technology companies,” said Steve Mitchell, Richardson mayor. “Richardson has a vibrant and thriving economy, which continues to attract new investment as a result. To sustain and grow the region’s economic opportunities, skilled workers, like those who will graduate from DeVry University, are necessary.”
DeVry University in Richardson offers undergraduate programs in business administration and technical management. In addition, through its Keller Graduate School of Management, a Master of Business Administration (MBA) graduate degree program is also available.
“DeVry University’s new Richardson location is a welcomed addition to the community,” said Bill Sproull, president of the Richardson Chamber of Commerce. “As the Telecom Corridor® continues to grow, more and more skilled professionals will be needed to meet local business demand. DeVry graduates understand how business and technology intersect, which local employers will find beneficial.”
Like their peers enrolled at the other six DeVry University locations in Texas, students at the Richardson location receive personalized instruction in classes with a low student-to-faculty ratio.
The new facility provides approximately 9,800 square feet of space, including four classrooms, a lecture and technology lab, a study lab, a student lounge, an academic support center and administrative offices.
