Buckingham Storage heard about the emergency at the Food Pantry and decided to take action. Since 60% of RISD children live below the poverty line, the school lunches and breakfasts they and their families counted on are no longer there. With food costs up 17% nationwide, hundreds of low income families are coming to NETWORK of COMMUNITY Ministries for food just to make it through to the next month. Last year NETWORK distributed food to over 25,000 individuals and families.
June 26-30, Buckingham Storage will work directly with NETWORK to collect donated food items through its 500 E. Buckingham location.
Julia Roark states, “When we heard about the children going hungry, we knew we had to do something. Our neighbors will help us step up to make certain they will be fed this summer.” For more information on how to participate in this food drop, contact Buckingham Storage at 972-808-9392.
